I had to glue shut you shoebox
I got some drool on your white socks
Your stomach and fort Knox
I'd saw of limbs to be near you
Forgot you pills on your way through
No one jumps through hoops quite like you do I've got my neck under your white sneakers
Did the needles pierce your freckles? Rub my eyes for the speckle
I can still hear the heckle
He said your mouth was the widest
I know you chew never digest But that's where I wanna go next
under the soles of your white sneakers Under the soles of your white sneakers Under the soles of your white sneakers
White sneakers White sneakers
Do you know All these roads I got lost
And I told
Everyone
What I'll be Now they all se
What makes up A glowing star A real life star
I remember what she sang about
That thing about San Jose
Glued down by the gas station pump and Watching all my dreams slip away
Exorcists
Creates the schism Between what was And what will be
But not for free
Don't learn from me cause you will be Greasy handed tired knees
For eternity
I remember what she sang about
That thing about San Jose
Glued down by the gas station pump and
Watching all my dreams slip away
Not a single friend is left here Breathing free in San Jose
I can't park their cars without a license A year a day
Stammering, as I recount my dreams violent scenes
behind my lids
sits in place
for diversion
no aversion
i’d rather see
this than reality
I remember what she sang about
That thing about San Jose
Glued down by the gas station pump and Watching all my dreams slip away
Not a single friend is left here Breathing free in San Jose
I can't park their cars without a license A year a day
Voice is guttural
Seems to know it all
Speaks when I'm asleep
Digs their thumb deep
Gambles away
Gifts, wives and pay
Squanders all away
It shares my birthday and it blows out all my candles though it never gave me anything
Some serial killers and Kurt were also born as pisces suns you try to tell me something
Spreading rumours
Lives in tumors
Laughs at every tear
Paints my every fear
On the mirror
Getting clearer
Getting clearer
It shares my birthday and it
blows out all my candles though it never gave me anything
hands firm on my shoulders Smiles just as the flash goes of it knows what this year will bring
It shares my birthday and it blows out all my candles though it never gave me anything

Spunsugar is releasing their new track, ‘White Sneakers’, the latest instalment from their upcoming new album A Hole Forever, via Adrian Recordings on 3rd November 2023, paired with an artsy music video. Forthcoming sophomore album set for release on 17th November 2023.
‘White Sneakers’ references a one-sided love affair whose defining feature was their white basketball shoes. It follows the same introspective themes as the previous singles, delving into the dense topics of love, loss, and life. ‘White Sneakers’, in a sentence, is a daydream about someone, only to be suddenly aware of how it might not be appropriate. The soft guitar and synth riff represent the narrator's naivety, only to be interrupted by the verse - awoken to a guitar so distorted it sounds like something is breaking.
“This might be the sexiest song we've done? It's still sad though, don't worry,” Spunsugar said. “At its core, a love song. Even sappier, it's about unrequited love. About longing for someone close to you that you shouldn’t long for and the shame that comes with it. That's where the dichotomy comes in, both lyrically and musically. A cool piece of trivia: ‘White Sneakers’ started as a cover of ‘Carrie’ by Europe, but it's changed significantly since then. Don't sue us, Joey Tempest.”
The coinciding music video follows in the same vein as their ‘San Jose’ flick; artsy, vintage, and timeless with a false sense of swagger. The lighthearted imagery juxtaposes the not-so lightheartedness of the lyrics, aiming to evoke teenage heartache and small town industrial poetry, but with a hint of self awareness and silliness.
Growing up farmer offsprings, bible belt kids of fundamentalists and trailer trash in small towns of Sweden, Spunsugar are based in Malmö, Sweden and consists of band members Cordelia Moreau, Elin Ramstedt and Felix Sjöström. Each member carries a separate musical background, creating a melting pot of their distinct influences. Some of the group’s most cherished artists are Cocteau Twins, Red House Painters, Hole, Electric Youth, Ramones, and Misfits.
Spunsugar dropped their critically acclaimed debut album Drive-Through Chapel in 2020 and an EP Things That I Confuse in 2021, leading to an abundance of media support from Steve Lamacq at BBC Radio 6 Music, The Independent, The Line of Best Fit, Nothing but Hope and Passion, and more. The ensemble has released three singles from A Hole Forever thus far: ‘Skin Unwell’ on 14th June, ‘It Never Gave Me Anything’ on 18th August, and ‘San Jose’ on 29th September 2023, setting the tone for the band’s impending electrifying second album.
Spunsugar’s new LP A Hole Forever will further discuss dense topics and expose the realities of coming to terms with internal shame. The album tackles themes about getting older and confessing dark secrets with the mindset that life is a slow death.
Spunsugar’s new single and music video 'White Sneakers’ will be released on 3rd November 2023 ahead of their sophomore album A Hole Forever on 17th November 2023.

Spunsugar is an alternative rock band with shoegaze influences. Sound wise, imagine if Alternative Nation on MTV 1997 and a
drum machine fall into a cotton candy machine. The cotton candy wheel breaks and derails. They grew up farmer offsprings, bible belt kids of fundamentalists and trailer trash in small towns of Sweden. These are their references and this shapes their sound....more
Unmistakably one of the best releases of 2020! There is a feeling of 90s Shoegaze mixed with a signature uniqueness, and the drums are astounding!❤❤❤ Midnight Vega
